I'm sitting here in the public library using their free wireless internet. This is so cool. It's extremely fast. I'm moving to another place closer to town in a couple weeks, and the new place has free wireless, also. Dialup will finally be a thing of the past for me and I am absolutely thrilled. It also means that I won't have to pay even the measly $6.00/month I pay right now to GCI for a dialup connection.
Even neater is that I'm still using very old technology and it works just fab. Apple knew what it was doing when it invented those first Airport cards. I ought to know, I'm using one right now! It was a gift from a friend down in Anchorage. These cards are old, old, old by computer standards, and yet they work with the most modern wifi devices. We didn't know if it would even work at all, the poor dusty thing. Kind of like my beat-up old clamshell iBook, that has definitely seen better days. But we're still up and running!
