Ever since I was a little kid I've wanted one of these. This morning one popped up on the local freecycle list and I managed to be the first responder! (More cynical minds might think I was the
only responder, but I felt absolutely overjoyed and lucky.)
When I got it home and plugged it in my boyfriend and I ate dinner and watched it...do nothing. After twenty minutes of "Hey, I think it swelled up a little! I think...well, maybe not..." he went home and I left it plugged in. Only to return after forgetting about it for a couple of hours to find it boobling away, doing its lava lamp thing.
Add a good Dr. Who episode, lovely 70° temps and a sunny day, what more can a girl ask for?
Wait, this ad just came across freecycle!
"This is a 1960's Differential that was made into a lamp at the top.
The light fixture looks pretty dilapidated as does the differential,
but if there is a guy out there that would like it, it's all yours. If
it's difficult to visualize, please email and I'll send a picture of
it. You'll need to pick it up, it's a bit heavy."
I'm sure some guy will love it!
