I took the dogs out to do their morning run in the back yard. They were going NUTS sniffing the ground. I thought, "I sure hope there isn't a moose out here," and began scanning the woods and fireweed for a sleeping behemoth. Seeing none, we walked down to the back of the house and the gate to the dog yard and Sofia began walking on her hind legs and Ole about pulled my arm off.
The other side of the dog yard was and is still full of BIG WHITE CHICKENS. Good old giant leghorn chickens, plus a banty and a bunch of guineafowl and other non-scheduled poultry. All whooping it up and making themselves at home.
Needless to say, I'll have to drive the dogs somewhere else to potty today.
My neighbor is a typical Alaskan character. For some reason he wants these birds, but he doesn't give them anywhere to live, as far as I can tell. I can't see why he wants them. But I don't think he'll have them for long, because as I was shooting this video, a fox was running just on the other side of the fence.
I'm not wishing bad things for the chickens, but I'd sure love to get some video of the fox. Stay tuned.
