We've been having something of a Northern California Winter rather than our treasured Interior Alaskan Summer, so it is easy to start thinking about Fall these days. It's almost August, and school starts mid-August, as does hunting season.
It's also time to sign up for Fall lessons. Lesson slots fill quickly, and it's a good idea to get your ideal lesson time set before the school/Fall madness sets in. Shoot me an email at jeanofiddler at gmail dot com (you know how to translate that into an email, and spambots don't) and let me help arrange things for you. Or call the studio and leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Even when I'm not in the studio I check my messages. I'll need payment for September right away to secure your slot. For those of you who are current students, you can also text my cell phone.
This most definitely includes all those taking distance lessons, too!
Possible Music Jam/Song Circle
I'm considering starting a monthly or twice-a-month jam/song circle. Since I do therapy dog work with Ole Dog, it seems to me that a Saturday afternoon jam at the Pioneer home might be pretty neat. It wouldn't be scary for those who are learning, but it would be fun for the residents of the Pioneer Home. I haven't spoken with their management yet, but let me know what you think.
Most jams are held in public places, such as coffeehouses, restaurants, etc. This is kind of public, but not like a restaurant. Once again, please let me know what you think, and I'll be speaking with the Pioneer Home soon.
