I was hoping to resume teaching in-person at the end of October, but the death of a vaccinated friend this month made me realize that it's just too risky. I will take a look at it again at the end of Winter.
Online lessons have some great advantages!
- You don't have to drive anywhere, so it doesn't matter what the weather is. No worries about icy conditions, and no rushing about after work, or figuring out who is taking the kids to their lessons.
- Ten minutes before your lesson you get your instrument out, set up the music stand, put your music up and call me. BOOM! It's just lesson time and you're done!
- You get to hear Bucky the parrot encourage you while you are playing! (WOW! WHOA! WHOOOO! Buck buck buck BUCKAW!)
- Sometimes Zuzu Bean the fox terrier sings along!
- You get to look forward to receiving music in your email!
- Payment is a snap, no more going to the bank to get cash, or writing checks. Just Venmo or Zelle and poke a couple buttons and BAM! Done!
Since I've taught distance lessons since 2005, before the age of Zoom and all those apps (and before people even used the word "app") I am very comfortable teaching this way.
